ISE IMPLEMENTATION

  • Moving to a new Manufacturing Execution System (MES) is more than just installing software – especially if you want to get the most transformational results out of the system. ISE has a detailed Standard Implementation Methodology (SIM) that is based on the experience of providing manufacturing software solutions for nearly 30 years. Our goal is to make sure our customers are provided every opportunity for long-term success with our products. That pledge means going the extra miles to make sure not only is the software configured properly for the firm, but the company is ready to operate and extract the best possible results from the system. The scheduling allocated to each SIM step provides an adequate amount of time for our customers to absorb the information conveyed, ask questions and become intimately familiar with the application. However, our Standard Implementation Methodology is designed with flexibility in mind to accommodate variation based upon customer considerations such as resource availability, scope content, implementation timeline, etc. Our SIM provides a recommendation toward the appropriate level of content and time to complete, yet the Standard Implementation Methodology can vary within a customer environment. While doing it right takes a sequence of steps, we’ve summarized the major aspects of our SIM plan for prospective customers.

    Doing the Groundwork

In most instances, integrating the MES starts well before the software makes it onto a firm’s servers. Researching and understanding how a company’s production processes operate is key to making sure the software will be able to maximize its utility and provide the greatest return on investment.

At ISE, we have highly experienced consultants who can assess a firm’s operations on-site and create a plan to make sure the MES aligns as closely as possible to the current production processes. Our consultants can also recommend changes to how the floor functions. These changes are not just for better MES integration, but the recommendations can help streamline manufacturing efficiency in general.

During this phase, ISE performs value engineering services and GAP analysis for customers to make sure the MES system is configured to match what the firm needs. We call attention to areas where the firm could investigate to address possible deficiencies that might be losing valuable data and efficiency.  During this period, ISE performs data mapping services to identify and connect the new and existing information coming from production and inventory operations to the manufacturing execution system.

    Installing the System

The next step is to install the software and interconnect its processes to the production floor. We can install many of our products on-site, in the cloud or in a combination in between. ISE vets the data to make sure the system is executing properly on the correct data and reporting information back to the firm’s ERP system

    Getting Prepared

Once the system is running as it should, ISE moves forward with in-depth training for the firm’s employees. We offer several ways this can be done from training only key people to taking the entire production staff through the step-by-step operation of the system. Included with the training, the creation of detailed documentation is created. These provide the necessary information on how the system operates that can be referenced later.

    Going Live

When the documentation is complete and a sufficient number of employees are trained how the MES operates, it’s time to go live with the manufacturing execution system. This is when the system is transitioned to the customer’s control. ISE is there at this critical time to make sure everything has gone to plan and the MES rollout is a success.

    Supporting the Long-term

Getting to this point isn’t where ISE’s assistance ends. We offer continuing service and support for our systems. From regular product service pack releases, feature updates and expansion packs, these help our customers get the most out of their systems for years into the future. Through our XTEND services, ISE also offers firms the capability to create custom modules that can help our manufacturing execution systems integrate more closely with a customer’s specialized processes.
